The memorandum states that stray dogs often attack children and women, and in some cases, citizens have been injured. Residents also complained that constant barking of dogs at night disturbs children’s sleep and adds to the public’s distress. Hence, citizens have demanded immediate action to capture the stray dogs and relocate them to a secured area outside the city.
Citizens also expressed dissatisfaction with the difficulties faced in obtaining birth certificates. Although only an Aadhaar card is officially required, additional documents are being demanded, causing inconvenience to applicants. Furthermore, residents questioned why no action has been taken after issuing notices regarding illegal encroachments.
The memorandum also highlighted the lack of transparency in the city’s ongoing pipeline installation works. Citizens demanded clear information about where pipelines have been laid and insisted that larger pipelines be installed in wards with higher populations.
The memorandum carried signatures of several local leaders, including Congress leader Abdul Majeed Maniyar, senior Congress leader Abid Jahangirdar, Samajwadi Party city president Momin Muzaffar Ahmed, former deputy municipal president Salim Qureshi, Shaikh Mubashir, Eid Committee president Sheikh Salimoddin, Naim Baksh, Imam Patel, Anwar Hussain, Mohammad Taufiq, Virendra Wagh, Kaleem Shah, Abdul Masad, Amin Shuttari, along with many other residents.
